First Takwood War

Summer 2015 • Darnitsa Subcontinent

First Takwood War — a brief defensive conflict in the Takwood area during the summer of 2015. The poorly prepared city garrison and militia, supported by the Orland Kingdom and the Netherlanders, repelled an attack by unidentified "foreign" units operating from neighboring cities.

Background

In 2015, Takwood maintained a semi-independent status and lacked developed military structures. The weakened defense system and inexperienced personnel made the city vulnerable to raids from neighboring territories. Amid growing threats, an improvised defense headquarters was formed, involving Vladislav I, Alexander Ashas, and Nazar Kosyanov.

Course of the Conflict

Day 1. The attackers breached outer patrols and attempted to establish positions near the city. The defenders organized barricades and improvised positions, conducting engineering works throughout the night.

Day 2. After regrouping, allied units launched counterattacks on key fronts, forcing the enemy to retreat. By the end of the day, the assault was thwarted, and the "foreign city" units withdrew from Takwood.

Outcome and Significance

The defense of Takwood was successful. The events of the war strengthened coordination between Orland, Takwood, and the Netherlanders, which became a significant factor in the subsequent Grantville Campaign of 2016.
